Hillsborough Girls Heading to Softball World Series

Hillsborough Hustle will face teams from Mid-Atlantic states.

The Hillsborough Hustle 10U girl’s fast-pitch travel softball team earned its bid to play in the 2013 USSSA World Series in Salisbury, Md. 

The World Series will take place from Wednesday to Sunday, and will include teams from Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

The 10U Hustle team has enjoyed a very successful 2013 Spring/Summer season. The team has played in a total of nine tournaments throughout New Jersey.

  • A thrilling 4-3 extra innings victory over the Mt. Laurel Storm to earn the bid to the USSSA World Series;
  • A Father’s Day 7-3 victory over the NJ Xtreme to win the North Brunswick Summer Blast Off tournament;
  • Reaching the Championship Game of the Hamilton Hurricanes Backbreaker tournament.

In addition to the above-mentioned tournaments, the Hustle also plays in a Mid-States Summer League. The team has won eight consecutive games and is one of the favorites to win the 10U division heading into the playoffs. For the 2013 Spring/Summer season, the team's overall record is 30-17.

Members of the 10U Hustle include Claire Brouillard, Isabel Diaz, Anisha Gademsky, Alyssa Goldstein, Mikayla O’Neill, Emily Orr, Dani Pescatore, Katie Rygiel, Sierra Skala, Lauren Spalluto and Courtney Wengryn.

Hustle coaches are Lisa Muntone, Rich Orr, Mike Spalluto and Manager Paul Goldstein.
