Hillsborough Municipal Alliance Hosting Event on Keeping Children Safe During Summer
The Hillsborough Municipal Alliance is hosting a night of awareness and education about the dangers of underage drinking.

The Hillsborough Municipal Alliance is hosting a night of awareness and education regarding the dangers of underage drinking next week.
The event will take place on Wednesday, May 27, at the Hillsborough Municipal Building Multipurpose Room.
The free event will discuss prescription drug abuse and other facts about dangerous drug trends in communities, according to Hillsborough Township. Michael DeLeon, president of Steered Straight, will be presenting a documentary of his entitled “An American Epidemic”. According to its website, Steered Straight is a non-profit organization that offers motivational school assemblies and community programs that stress the importance of making good, positive decisions.

The event is open to all adults and children ages 10 and older. Pizza will be provided at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7 p.m.
According to Hillsborough Township, the program is sponsored by Steered Straight Inc., the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and the Hillsborough/Millstone Municipal Alliance - Advocating Wellness through Addiction Resources and Education (A.W.A.R.E.).
