Hillsborough Native Recognized as Volunteer of the Year

A Hillsborough college student received the distinction from Lycoming College in Pennsylvania.

A Hillsborough native attending Lycoming College was recognized as Volunteer of the Year by the college.

Richard Matel-Galatis, an economics and archaeology major from Hillsborough, received the distinction from Lycoming College, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, at the 9th Annual Leadership and Service Awards Banquet on April 15.

At the Leadership and Service Awards Banquet, individuals are nominated for the awards by students and then selected by a committee. Awards are given in four categories: intramural sports, fraternity and sorority life, student programs and leadership development, and community service.
