Memorial Service To Remember Hillsborough Firefighter Who Died In Line Of Duty

A memorial will be held on July 14, four years since Hillsborough Fire Company #2 Assistant Chief William "Billy" Shaffer died.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Fire Co. #2 – Station 37 will be gathering on July 14 to remember the ultimate sacrifice made by Assistant Chief William "Billy" Shaffer four years ago.

Shaffer died while battling a car fire on July 14, 2021, on Camplain Road. Right after putting out the fire, Shaffer suffered a medical emergency. Read More: Hillsborough Firefighter Dies In Line Of Duty

Services will start at 6:30 p.m. at Station 37 at 375 Route 206 in Hillsborough.

Attending Emergency Service Agencies:

  • Department Dress Uniform or Equivalent
  • Rank and File will take place prior to the start of the ceremony
