Listed below are the times and places where Somerset County residents can honor those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, according to the Somerset County website.
Somerset County
- When: Friday, Sept. 11
- Where: In front of the county’s 9/11 Memorial, located at the corner of Main and Bridge streets in Somerville.
- Time: 8:46 a.m.
The ceremony will begin with a brief tolling of the bell at the top of the nearby historic courthouse. The Freeholders will read the names of the 39 Somerset County residents killed in the attacks 14years ago and place a wreath in front of the memorial.

Bernardsville
- When: Friday, Sept. 11
- Where: 9/11 Memorial at the Bernardsville Public Library, located at 1 Anderson Hill Road.
- Time: 6:30 p.m.
There will be a remembrance, dedicated to the memory of Allison Horstmann Jones and Thomas Reinig.

Bound Brook
- When: Friday, Sept. 11
- Where: In front of Borough Hall on Hamilton Street.
- Time: 8:30 a.m.
A proclamation will be read by the Mayor and emergency responders will initiate sirens, horns and bells for 30 seconds.
Green Brook
- When: Friday, Sept. 11
- Where: At the Top of the World Park 9/11 Memorial.
- Time: 6:30 p.m.
Hillsborough
- When: Friday, Sept. 11
- Where: Woods Road Fire Company #3, located at 324 Woods Road
- Time: 7 p.m.
All are invited to attend.
Montgomery
- When: Friday, Sept. 11
- Where: Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2 Firehouse on Route 518
- Time: 6 p.m.
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive in Montgomery Township on Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Otto Kaufman Center, located at 356 Skillman Road. This blood drive honors the lives lost and forever changed on Sept. 11, 2001, and acknowledges the work of our local first responders -fire, police and emergency medical volunteers.
North Planfield
- When: Friday, Sept. 11
- Where: Fire Bell, located at the corner of Somerset and Lincoln Place.
- Time: 8:30 a.m.
Somerset Street will be closed briefly for North Plainfield’s annual 9/11 Silent Procession, which starts at GreenbrookRoad at approximately 8:30 a.m. The procession will conclude with a memorial ceremony at the Fire Bell, located at the corner of Somerset and Lincoln Place.
Peapack & Gladstone
- When: Friday, Sept. 11
- Where: the 9/11 Memorial in Liberty Park at Main Street and Park Avenue.
- Time: 8:45 a.m.
Wreaths will be placed in memory of those killed.
Warren
- When:Friday, Sept. 11
- Where: The municipal complex flag pole, located at 46 Mountain Blvd.
- Time: 9 a.m.
Watchung
- When: Friday, Sept. 11
- Where: On the Village Green,across from Borough Hall on the Watchung Circle.
- Time: 5:30 p.m.
In the event of inclement weather,the ceremony will be held in the all purpose room at Valley View School, Valley View Road, Watchung.
