Reminder: Primary Election Voting Registration Deadline Approaching

Only registered voters can cast a ballot in the upcoming June Primary Election.

Hillsborough Township informed residents that the last day to register to vote in the upcoming primary election is Tuesday, May 12.

The Hillsborough Township Clerk’s Office is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and until 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Residents can also visit the Somerset County website to download a voter registration form.

The Office of the Somerset County Board of Elections, located at 20 Grove St. in Somerville, will be open on May 12, from 8:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. for the purpose of voter registration.

Registered voters can vote by mail by downloading the vote by mail form available on the Somerset County website.

Three residents are on the ballot for two posts on the Hillsborough Township Committee. Incumbent Republicans Carl Suraci and Greg Burchette and Democrat Ann Harris all filed for the election. Suraci and Burchette are seeking their fifth and second three-year terms, respectively.

Two positions of the five-member Township Committee will be decided later this year.

The Primary is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
