Students Graduate at Delaware, Hofstra, Sacred Heart and Western Connecticut

Colleges and universities announce recent graduates.

On a morning marked by wispy clouds in a blue sky, more than 21,000 people—graduates and their families and friends—braved gale force winds to celebrate the University of Delaware's 164th Commencement, held May 25 at Delaware Stadium.

Four Hillsborough students were included: Meghan Doyle, Melanie Gingras, Olga Svetlitskaya and Jonathan Valenzano.

Citing the talent, ambition, passion and commitment that made the day possible, University President Patrick Harker congratulated the Class of 2013 on what he described as "a great day to graduate.

More than 2,000 undergraduate, graduate and law students—including Hillsborough's Jeffrey Biegel and Cara D'Andrea—earned their degrees from Hofstra University in Hempstead, this spring. The Class of 2013 celebrated their achievements at commencement ceremonies in the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

Biegel received earned a BS in Music, and D'Andrea earned a BS in Video/TV And Business.

Gregory Nunn was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science, Business Economics, at Sacred Heart University's Annual Commencement on May 18th and 19th. Approximately 1,500 graduates received degrees from Sacred Heart University this year.

Christopher Michaels was one of nearly 1,300 students to graduate from Western Connecticut State University this spring. The commencement ceremony took place on the Westside campus with 5,000 parents and other guests in attendance. WCSU President James W. Schmotter wished wished the graduates well and shook the hand of every student who walked across the stage.
