Township Man Arrested by Raritan Police, Charged with Shoplifting
A Hillsborough man was arrested and charged with shoplifting from a department store.

A Hillsborough Township man was arrested by Raritan Township Police last week and charged with shoplifting.
William E. Sporman, 28, of Hillsborough, was charged on Wednesday, April 22, with shoplifting from an area Kohl’s department store, according to the Raritan Township Police.
Police said on April 14, Kohl’s loss prevention staff said it observed an individual remove two Timex watches from a display case, remove the watches from their boxes and place them in a bag before leaving the store. The loss prevention staff then reported the suspect had left the store. The items in question were valued at $119.

A follow up investigation performed by Detective Scott Nelson led to Sporman, Raritan Police said. He was subsequently charged and police recovered one watch.
