Volunteer Firefighter Killed In Hillsborough Motorcycle Crash

A motorcycle accident took the life of a Millstone Valley Fire Department volunteer firefighter on Saturday after he reportedly drove off the side of the road around 11:30 p.m. in Hillsborough.

“It is with deep regret that we have to announce the passing of Firefighter Kyle Scheuerman,” the fire department’s website announced. “Kyle succumbed to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Friday evening.”

The crash occurred on Millstone River Road, north of the Blackwells Mills Causeway, according to My Central Jersey.

According to nj.com, a preliminary report states Scheuerman was driving a 2008 Yamaha YZF R6 motorcycle southbound on Millstone Road when he attempt to navigate a curve, but ended up driving off the right side of the road and striking a mailbox.

The driver, who was later pronounced dead at the scene, continued across the road, ran off the left side, and struck a utility pole, police said.
