Watch Out For Phone Scammers Posing As Montgomery Police, Demanding Money

Montgomery Township Police are warning residents that scammers are using their main phone number to falsely identify themselves as cops.

MONTGOMERY, NJ - Montgomery Township Police are warning residents that scammers are using their main phone number (908-359-3222) to falsely identify themselves as police officers.

"This is known as caller ID spoofing," said police.

The scammers may claim you are under investigation or demand personal information or payment.

"This is a scam. The Montgomery Township Police Department will never request money, payment over the phone, or sensitive personal information in this manner," said police.
