WEATHER UPDATE: Hour-by-Hour Forecast As Snow Approaches Hillsborough

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory and hazardous weather outlook for the region.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory and hazardous weather outlook after reporting that 3 to 6 inches of snow and traces of ice are expected to blanket the region.

Hillsborough can expect snow this afternoon, heavy at times, with temperatures around 34, the NWS said. Total possible daytime snow accumulations are between 3 and 5 inches.

Tonight, Hillsborough can expect rain and snow before midnight, then a chance of freezing rain. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy freezing fog after 5 a.m. and a low around 27. Possible snow accumulation of 1 inch, the NWS reported.

Temperatures are expected to warm up on the weekend, however. Saturday and Sunday are expected to have peak temperatures of 48 and 40 degrees respectively.
