HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Another National Merit Scholarship winner from Hudson County was announced Monday. The program gives the top graduating seniors in the area a financial boost in college.

The competitive annual scholarships — often for as much as $2,500 per year — are available for all four years of college.

Thousands of prospective award-winners are identified during their junior year of high school based on their PSAT scores. Then, they submit recommendations, an essay, and more during their senior year.
