4 Performances Of 'Mean Girls' Coming To Hoboken High School

Tickets are available for four performances of "Mean Girls" at Hoboken High School this weekend.

HOBOKEN, NJ — This weekend, Hoboken High School students will be performing perhaps the best-known comedy about modern high schools.

"On Wednesdays, we wear pink!" "That's so fetch!" These quotes originated in the hit 2004 film "Mean Girls," which became a Broadway musical in 2017. The film, written by Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey, focused on school cliques, bullying, and standing up for what's right.

More than 40 Hoboken High School students will be acting and participating in a local production this weekend.

"Even though the story was first set in the early 2000s, the plot and themes are still relevant," noted the school's theater department in a release. "Despite the title, the show itself actually has a positive message of not conforming but being true to yourself. After all, being yourself helps you stand out far more than being a part of a clique."

Performances will take place at Hoboken High on:

  • Friday, Nov. 14, 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 15, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 16, 2 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, and can be purchased in advance at https://hhsnj.booktix.com/.

If tickets remain at the door, they will be cash only.
