Person In 'Deadpool' Costume And 3 Others Sought In Hoboken Halloween Assault

A person in a Deadpool costume and 3 other people are sought by Hoboken police in a Halloween assault that injured a woman, police said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hoboken police are asking the public to help identify four people in connection with a 2024 Halloween night aggravated assault that injured a woman.

They said that on Oct. 31, at approximately 9 p.m., Hoboken Police Officer Shyenna Vega responded to reports of a simple assault on the 50 block of Washington Street.

The victim reported she had been walking northbound on Washington Street when an unidentified individual, wearing all red, ran directly into her and struck her, possibly intentionally.

The victim was knocked down, causing injuries to her mouth and knee.

The suspect and three other individuals continued to run from the scene, police said.

A follow-up investigation, led by Det. Paul Quinn, has identified four individuals of interest, police said.

The main suspect is believed to have been wearing a "Deadpool" costume or hoodie and a dark colored facemask, police said.

"He now faces charges of aggravated assault, due to the extent of the victim's injuries," police said.

Police said that the others sought "appear to be young adults and were wearing the following":
• Black pants and a gray sweatshirt
• White pants, black sweatshirt, and a ski mask
• Blue pants, ski mask, and a dinosaur backpack
