The folks at Hoboken's 902 Brewing Company have concocted an extremely limited edition beer that will be on tap for one night only this week at Cork City to pay homage to the city's iconic rock club Maxwell's, which is closing at the end of the month.
The black IPA, named “Maxwell’s Curtain Call”, adds a unique blend of hops to the brewery's "Black Dynamite" recipe that will never be seen or tasted again, according to 902 Brewing Company's Andrew Brown, who said Maxwell's was the first bar/restaurant he ever visited when first exploring Hoboken about a decade ago.
"With word of Maxwell’s closing for good at the end of July, we at 902 Brewing were shocked, saddened and knew we had to honor its rich history with one last tribute beyond the music," Brown said.
"Maxwell's Curtain Call," will be on tap this Thursday from 6 p.m. until "the last note is poured/played," as part of an NJ Local event at Cork City, located at 3rd Street and Bloomfield Avenue.
