Teen Father Killed In Jersey City Was 'Best Person,' Says Fundraiser
A teen found fatally shot inside a Jersey City apartment building was a beloved father and brother, friends said.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — A fundraiser for the Pennsylvania teen found shot in a Jersey City apartment earlier this month says he was a beloved father and brother.
Al-Jahmir Curry, 16, of Beaver Falls, Pa., was found by Jersey City police on Friday shortly after 5 p.m. inside an apartment on Rose Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the hospital just before 5:30, prosecutors said.
A 17-year-old male was arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting. Because he's a juvenile, law enforcement officials have not released more details.

"Al’Jahmir was one of the best people you could ever know," the fundraiser says. "No matter what day it was or how down you were feeling, being around Al was the highlight of everyone’s day. He was such a wonderful and joyful person to be around, and his presence was truly a gift to all who knew him."
"At only 16 years old, he had big dreams and goals ahead of him," says the fundraiser. "He was a beloved father, friend, and brother."
The fundraiser is meant to help his family bury him, according to the post. $905 of a $8,000 goal was raised by Friday. The fundraiser can be found here.
