After Kickball Come Wings and Beer

The Hoboken Housing Authority kickball team had a party on Saturday afternoon.

When Rami Pinchevsky joined the Hoboken Housing Authority kickball team more than two years ago, he promised his fellow kickballers that if they'd ever win a championship, he'd throw a party to celebrate.

At Lounge 11 on Saturday afternoon, Pinchevsky finally made his promise come true as he and other members of the team, as well as HHA residents and commissioners, celebrated their win.

The team, which played in the ZogSports league, will donate $500 to the Jubilee Center. All teams in the ZogSports league play for a charity of their choice.

"This is fantastic," said Mayor Dawn Zimmer, who stopped by the bar for a drink and a celebration. "It's hard to play against you guys, you have the home field adventage," she said about the crowd that usually supports the team.

"I love having you guys in the league," said Chris Corbin, general manager of ZogSports in New Jersey.

He added, "it brings together the entire community ... that's what it's all about."

Registration for the ZogSports Fall league opens today.

Correction: A previous version of this article stated Rami Pinchevsky was the founder of the team, but it was Mayor Dawn Zimmer who founded it about 2.5 years ago.
