Hobokenite Assaulted after Losing Glasses in Bar

Next time a cute girl in a bar asks to borrow your sunglasses, just say "no."

A 27-year-old Hoboken man was assaulted around 1 a.m. on Sunday after getting into an altercation in a Hoboken bar about his $200 sunglasses, police said. 

The Hobokenite told police that a woman at Green Rock Bar and Grill asked him if she could put on his Randolph Engineering Sunglasses, according to reports. The victim gave his sunglasses to the girl and they began to dance.

After a little while, the man asked for his glasses back.

"I have no idea what you’re talking about," the girl responded, according to the police report on the matter.

The man was then approached by the girl's male friend, who also said that he had no idea what the Hoboken man was talking about, police said. 

The man went to the bar's manager, who checked the woman's bag and couldn't find the glasses, police said. The Hobokenite, now at a loss for his glasses, becasme upset and asked people at the bar numerous times if they had seen his shades. 

Ultimately, the Hobokenite was escorted out of the bar. As he was being escorted out, he told police, he was punched in the nose, causing a laceration. He was taken to the hospital.

No arrests were made. But, according to the police report, the man said the woman was blonde, wearing blue jeans and looked to be about 25-years-old.
