Bob Dylan Biopic Shot In Hoboken And Jersey City Opens In Local Theaters Christmas Eve

"A Complete Unknown" stars Timothee Chalamet, along with shops in Hoboken and Jersey City that were transformed. It opens Tuesday.

HOBOKEN, NJ — "A Complete Unknown," the Bob Dylan biopic set in the East Village but filmed partly in Hoboken and Jersey City this year, has already debuted in local theaters, with showings on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Among other locations, it will be screened in the Newport Centre Mall, near the Jersey City waterfront, five times on Christmas, including 9 a.m., 12:15, 3:30, 6:45, and 10 p.m.

It's also showing there on Christmas Eve. (Check here for local showtimes in the area.)

Many local businesses were made up to look like a 1960s bar or shop during the filming, which took 61 days last spring.

The film following the beginning of the folk singer's career. Besides Chalamet and Norton, it stars Monica Barbaro and Elle Fanning. James Mangold Directed.
