Bonds To Pay For New Hop Buses, Capital Improvements Postponed
The bond ordinances to purchase new hop buses were pulled off the agenda during Wednesday night's meeting.

Three bond ordinances that were supposed to pay for new shuttle buses, capitol improvements and the acquisition of capital equipment were pulled of Wednesday night's City Council agenda.
The ordinances—which were put on the agenda for second reading and a final vote—were supposed to pay for several capital projects around town, as well as new equipment.
A bond for almost $500,000 was supposed to pay for four new HOP shuttle buses.

"These ordinances did not have the necessary paper work to be heard," said Councilman Peter Cunningham, who introduced the ordinances.
The ordinances will have to be introduced again on first reading at the next scheduled council meeting, on April 18.

One bond proposes $1,830,550 to complete several side walk projects as well as equipment for the Parking Utility. Another ordinance proposes $5,175,000 for the completion of capital improvements and acquisition of equipment for various city garages.
A third bond ordinance proposes $497,000 to purchase shuttle buses and a bucket truck.
During the second reading of the bond ordinances, six votes are necessary, which means that one member of the city council minority will have to vote "yes."
