Burglary Charge For Woman With 'Number Of Packages': Hoboken Police
A woman was arrested after police saw her place a package from a Hoboken building into her laundry cart, they said.
HOBOKEN, NJ — A woman was charged with burglary after the Hoboken police caught her placing a package into her laundry cart, they said.
Police say that Jennifer Smith, 53, of Hoboken, was arrested on Nov. 29 after police responded to the 300 block of Grand Street "on reports of an individual exiting the building with a large number of packages in a cart."
Around 10:10 p.m., Sgt. Francis McCourt and officers Marc Lombardi and Keven De La Cruz headed to the scene. There, they "saw a woman they recognized...exiting the building and watched her put a package into a laundry cart that already had a handful of packages in it," police said.

When Smith saw police, she ran back into the building to exit out of the other side, police said. Officer Rose Kanan arrived on the scene to assist.
Smith was arrested for burglary and theft and taken to Hoboken Police Headquarters, where she was processed, police said. Then, she was brought to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, police said.
