Cabride with Two Santas Turns Physical

Not all Santas are jolly old men.

After a 31-year-old New York City woman and her friend got into a yellow cab on saturday around 6 p.m. at the downtown taxi stand, two heavy set men in Santa suits cut the line and got into the cab with them, according to a police report. On Saturday, New York City hosted Santa Con, an all-day pub crawl where all the participants dress as Santa Claus.

The two women, sitting in the back, shared their seat with a man described in his twenties, about six feet tall and about 230 pounds wearing a Santa Claus suit, police said.

The other man—who sat in the front seat of the cab—was wearing a Santa hat and a festive sweater, police said.

The woman got into an argument with "Santa," about the fact the two men had cut the line of people waiting for a taxi, police said. During the verbal argument "Santa" called the woman a "whore," after which she threw his Santa hat out the window, according to a report. 

"Santa" then tried to grab the woman's purse, according to the report. When the car stopped, police said, "Santa" pulled the woman out of the car "head first" and threw her purse over a fence at 631 Sinatra Dr.

The woman and her friend were left to gather her belongings as "Santa" left the scene, police said. "Santa" dropped his sunglasses, but has not been back to retrieve them from police, according to the report.

The woman told police that the driver and the front seat passenger never exited the vehicle as shse was gathering her belongings or fighting with "Santa," police said.

The woman told police she had a large bruise on her buttocks and pain in her elbow, according to the report.

No arrests were made.
