City Hosts Free Symphony Orchestra on Pier A
The event is free and kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra will host a free outdoor concert on Pier A Park on Thursday night. The concert is part of the Orchestra's tour through the state.
The concert, led by conductor Emil de Cou, will feature music from the stage and screen. Music from E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Rodgers’ “Carousel Waltz” and the shipboard hijinks of Gilbert and Sullivan’s resoundingly popular H.M.S. Pinafore mingle with patriotic favorites and a salute to our Armed Forces. The program also features Tchaikovsky’s Polonaise from Eugene Onegin, Nicolai’s Merry Wives of Windsor Overture, Strauss’ Voices of Spring and more.
A trio of vocalists from Opera New Jersey—soprano Channing Connell, mezzo-soprano Melissa Kornacki and baritone Jeremy Moore—joins the NJSO.
