Hoboken Waterfront Walking Tour, Free Kayaking Offered on City of Water Day

City of Water Day, a free annual harbor-wide event with activities that showcase the region's waterfront, is this Saturday, July 20.

Fund for a Better Waterfront executive director Ron Hine will lead a walking history tour of the Hoboken waterfront this Saturday as part of City of Water Day, an annual event that celebrates the region's waterfront with events at more than two dozen waterfront sites around New York Harbor.

During the Hoboken waterfront tour, which begins at the fountain at Pier A Park at 10 a.m., Hine will explain both the waterfront park's history and the plans to extend it continuously along the length of the city, while also discussing the urban design principles that have led to the waterfront's success.

The only other Hoboken-based City of Water event will be held at Hoboken Cove where free kayaking is being offered at Maxwell Place.
