City Asks for $3M Grant Extension for Southwest Park

The City has asked for an extension of from the county, set to expire next month. 

The grant money will be used to purchase a park in the southwestern part of town. The city, however,

When asked how much more time the city needs to , Zimmer declined to give a time frame. Currently, Zimmer said, "we're continuing the negotiations and asking for an appraisal." 

While the city appraised the property it wants to acquire at $2.3 million, the property owner needs to complete his own appraisal as well.
