Council Tables Resolution that Proposes Council Members Pay for Meeting
On February 1, a council meeting was canceled last minute, causing a special meeting to be held the next week.

A resolution to make council members Peter Cunningham and Carol Marsh pay for the overtime cost of a special meeting that was needed , was tabled on Wednesday night.
Corporation Counsel Mark Tabakin said that council members do not have the authority to fine other council members.
"It’s expressing that we wish those council members pay back that money," said Councilman Michael Russo, who sponsored the resolution.

Councilwoman Jennifer Giattino said that the council members in question—Marsh and Cunningham—weren't properly notified that they'd be discussed during the meeting. (such a notice is called a "Rice notice.")
After that, the resolution was tabled in a 5-4 vote, with the majority council members voting in favor to table.
