NORTH JERSEY, NJ — If you like both creme brûlée and coffee, you may just love a special offering from an expanding group of North Jersey cafés. North Jersey is brimming with new restaurants and eateries. Here are five that opened last month:

Forum Coffee

A new café held its soft opening on March 23 on Hoboken's main street, Washington Street, a short walk from the Hoboken Train Terminal. Forum Coffee says it's "redefining the Hoboken coffee experience." They had already opened shops in Livingston and East Hanover last year. They say they specialize in organic house roasted coffee, and offer nut and oat milks. They also offer twists such as the Cannoli and Iced Cannoli Latte with house-made cannoli cream and shell crumble. And then there's the creme brûlée latte, with its topping freshly toasted before your eyes (see photo above). It's not just coffee, though — they've got an array of teas and desserts. They're located at 123 Washington St. Find out more here.

Daily Provisions

Danny Meyer's New York City-based café chain opened in Jersey City and seems ready to weigh in on New Jersey's ongoing Taylor ham/pork roll debate. They noted, "We’re celebrating our first opening outside of the five boroughs with a Jersey City exclusive: Taylor Ham, Egg & Cheese with crispy potatoes. We’ll be waiting for ya." New Jerseyans have long debated whether to refer to their homemade ham as Taylor Ham, a brand name, or pork roll. If you want to try Taylor ham, roast chicken, salads, pastries, coffee, or any other delights at Daily Provisions, you can find them at 132 Bay Street in growing downtown Jersey City. They're located next to Rumble boxing and a short walk from the Grove Street PATH station. Find out more here.

Char Steakhouse

Char Steakhouse opened its third location in Scotch Plains at the end of March, serving up steak, seafood, pasta, and an array of beverages. They're located on Route 22, near the Somerset and Union County border. The Scotch Plains location offers private dining rooms, two bars (one inside and one outside), and an exterior lounge with a fireplace. The restaurant is located at 2377 Route 22 in Scotch Plains.
