UPDATED: Cyclist Seriously Injured During Hoboken Hit-And-Run

According to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office​​, the incident occurred just before 1 a.m. Monday on First and Garden Streets.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit is investigating an alleged hit-and-run incident that occurred just before 1 a.m. Monday on First and Garden streets in Hoboken.

According to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, a 24-year-old cyclist from New Hampshire was seriously injured.

Members of the Hoboken Police Department responded to the area at approximately 12:50 a.m. on
Monday, said the office on Tuesday. The victim, a New Hampshire man, was struck while riding a bicycle on Garden Street with two friends.

As a result of his injuries, the victim was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center for treatment.

Both the driver and the vehicle that struck the victim have been identified and the investigation is
ongoing. According to the initial investigation, the driver stopped but then left the scene.
