Done With Beryl? Flood Watch For Hoboken This Weekend; See Timeline

"Potential to produce heavy downpours that may lead to flooding" in Hudson County, the NWS says, giving a timeline of the "greatest threat."

HOBOKEN, NJ — The remnants of Hurricane Beryl have disspated, but Hudson County will still be subject to heavy rains Friday into Saturday, forecasters say. Dangerous rip currents may swirl in the Atlantic Ocean Friday night.

A flood watch has been issued for Hudson County through 6 p.m. Saturday.

The NWS said: "Showers with embedded thunderstorms are expected to shift through the area today through Saturday. Any thunderstorm will have the potential to produce heavy downpours that may lead to flooding. A total of 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is anticipated with locally higher amounts. The period for the greatest threat of flooding is this afternoon through Saturday morning, however, flooding will still be possible Saturday afternoon."

Up to an inch of rain will fall Friday night into Saturday, the NWS says. Thundershowers are most likely after 2 p.m. Friday and before 2 p.m. Saturday.

High tide will be at 2:19 a.m. and 3:04 p.m. Saturday.

Nevertheless, temperatures will still reach 88 on Saturday, the NWS says. Sunday will be sunny, with a high of 93.
