A woman from Bergen County crashed into a parked car in Hoboken, then went the wrong way on a one-way street, police said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — An Englewood Cliffs woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing into another car in Hoboken, police said.

The Hoboken police said that on Nov. 22, around 12:30 a.m., Police Officers Ricky Truppner and Jaydan Gonzalez responded to the intersection of Seventh and Clinton steets on reports of a possible drunk driving related crash. Police were told that a driver had hit another car, left the scene, and was seen traveling the wrong way on Seventh Street.

Sgt. Francis McCourt and Sgt. Tyler Soto observed the vehicle in question stopped on the 400 block of Seventh Street, facing the wrong way, police said.

Then, at Police Headquarters, she was also charged with reckless driving, wrong way on a one-way street, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to produce insurance card.

As per John’s Law she was released into the custody of a responsible party.

John's Law was instituted in New Jersey in 2001 after a man was charged with DWI and then released. A friend took the man to his vehicle, according to the state. The man then crashed into another car, killing the driver, John Elliott of South Jersey, who was an ensign in the Navy.
