NY Waterway Ferry Pier In Uptown Hoboken Reopens

NY Waterway closed Hoboken's 14th Street ferry pier to passengers, but repaired it later Tuesday, they said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — NY Waterway's 14th Street ferry pier in Hoboken was temporarily closed to passengers Tuesday morning, but fixed the problem by noon, the company said.

In a case of unusual timing, the company was set to provide increased ferry service from the pier to Brookfield Place at the World Trade Center starting Tuesday morning. It was also the same day that Hoboken's PATH train station at the other end of town reopened for service.

"Crews are working to resolve an issue involving a boarding barge at Hoboken 14th Street and hope to restore regular service later today," a company spokesperson said around 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Bus service was provided from the pier to other ferry terminals on the Hudson County waterfront that provide midtown and downtown Manhattan ferry service.

Before noon, the company said, "Hoboken 14th St boarding barge has been repaired, and we are back in operation."
