Former Hoboken Condo Owner Enjoys Luxury and Value in Great Location at The Marq Teaneck

Christina Gili needed to find a new rental home where she could bridge the gap between now and her targeted retirement timeline.

Gearing up to enjoy retirement removed from the hustle-and-bustle of the New York metro area, Christina Gili began building a dream home and tranquil retreat in South Carolina. Having sold her condominium in the New Jersey Hudson River “Gold Coast” City of Hoboken, Ms. Gili needed to find a new rental home where she could bridge the two-to-three-year gap between now and her targeted retirement timeline.

“I had been living in Hoboken for over two decades, including the last 11 years at Maxwell Place condominium complex,” Christina said. “Staring construction on a home in South Carolina was a step toward my retirement, but I had to sell my Hoboken home and rent an apartment. I had a decision to make; stay in Hoboken or find something different.”

As a Financial Services Executive, Ms. Gili is required to travel throughout the tri-state area, including New York City, Westchester County and beyond. Centrally located with easy access to the Hudson Valley, Manhattan and central southern New Jersey, she pinpointed Bergen County as a potential area for a new home.

“I wanted to be close to work centers in Westchester Country. Bergen County’s location and commutability was a real draw,” she said. “I initially looked at homes in Englewood, but the apartments were not sophisticated and reminded me of college dorms. Edgewater was another possibility, but I was concerned about the traffic in the heavily congested area.”

Early on in her search, a brand-new luxury rental property in Teaneck, NJ was launching its leasing program. The Marq Teaneck is an upscale collection of 256 rental residences and world-class amenities located at 329 Alfred Avenue, just off Route 4 and minutes from the George Washington Bridge.

“I didn’t even need to see the apartments at The Marq. I immediately knew from the stunning lobby and beautiful aesthetics of the building this is where I wanted to call home,” Christina stated. “I received more space and value at The Marq than I would have in Hoboken.”

The Marq features a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom homes, including select top-floor loft residences. The upscale residences are loaded with designer finishes, including soaring 19-foot ceilings in select homes. Spacious walk-in closets, in-unit washer/dryers, and spa-inspired baths with matte tiled floors and shower walls enhance daily comfort. Luxury kitchens boast full-size stainless-steel appliances, soft-close cabinetry, polished quartz countertops, and large kitchen islands in select homes. Some residences also feature private balconies.

Ms. Gili chose a two-bedroom home overlooking the building’s landscaped courtyard. “The home is very private, and I have a great view. The floorplan is open, and the interior finishes are modern and beautiful. The appliances are amazing. I was pleasantly surprised at the large size of the washer and dryer. I love having a balcony that provides private outdoor space, something I never had in Hoboken.”

Home to nearly 200 residents, The Marq Teaneck is an active and vibrant community with a host of amenities that encourage community interactions but also provide for personal space.

Residents have access to the oversized courtyard, which includes a swimming pool, sundeck, private kitchens, BBQ and dining areas, fire pits, and dog run. Inside, there’s co-working spaces, private conference rooms, entertainment lounges, and café areas provide convenience and connectivity. Additional offerings include a state-of-the-art fitness center, pet spa, concierge service, package and grocery lockers, bike storage, private storage rooms, and garage parking with EV charging stations.

“The amenities and open space at The Marq provide a great lifestyle balance,” Ms. Gili says. “There’s a strong community connection throughout the property, but also plenty of privacy and tranquility. The fitness center is state-of-the-art. I’m not typically someone who works out, but the well-equipped facility is motivating. The co-working spaces are perfect for remote work, providing the opportunity to leave your apartment and still be in a business environment.”

A location just off Route 4 provides residents of The Marq with great connection and exceptional accessibility, a must-have for Ms. Gili. The George Washington Bridge can be reached in under 15 minutes. Routes 80 and 95 connect to key business hubs throughout the area. NJ Transit buses to New York City are also just a short walk away.

Rents range from $2,495 to $5,985, with limited-time incentives currently available.
