Fund for a Better Waterfront to Host Comedy Night

The event is supposed to raise money as well as awareness.

Usually, waterfront development is no laughing matter.  

But on Friday night, the Fund for a Better Waterfront is hosting a comedy night to raise money for the organization and to raise awareness about the proposed Monarch Development, according to an announcement from FBW. 

The show is also supposed to "efforts to oppose the proposed Monarch at Shipyard development," according one of the organizers.

On March 16, at 8 p.m. at , comedian Joey Gay is doing his stand up routine. 

Gay was a finalist in NBC's "Last Comic Standing" and has made several appearances on famous television and radio shows, such as the Howard Stern Show and Comedy Central's Live at Gotham.

Tickets for the show are $25, which includes two drinks as well as a music performance. 

Mayor Dawn Zimmer will be there and is scheduled to start the night off with her remarks. 

, which proposes two 11-story towers on an uptown pier.
