HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken has no shortage of coffee shops and cafés, but most aren't quite as spacious as the new spot Haraz, nor do they offer as wide an array of baked goods.

Co-owner Akram Alsaidi said the restaurant group plans to open several more locations in New Jersey.

He said that what separates Haraz from other area cafés is "the quality of the coffee and the chai."

The corner café, at Hudson and Newark streets, offers plenty of room to work, with 1,800 square feet of space. They also have later hours than most area cafés, open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

Alsaidi said that customers have appreciated the fast wi-fi so they can work.

In terms of eats, loyal patrons particularly enjoy the breakfast pastries, such as the "Bee Bite" with Nutella. Other breakfast items include ingredients ranging from pistachio to cream cheese to eggs to chicken.

Their spin on a tres leches cake has proven popular:

"Business has been great," Alsaidi said. "We have the morning rush, the afternoon rush, the late night crowd."

Besides coffee drinks, customers can enjoy chai and black tea.

The owners said that groups have started using the cafe as a meeting spot — most recently the "Sober Curious Community." They welcome groups for special events.

Haraz is located at 89 Hudson St. Find out more about Haraz here.
