Hazardous Weather Outlook For Bergen County Warns Of Storms: See 'Threat Assessment' Map

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Bergen County, saying that 58 MPH winds and isolated tornadoes and flash floods are possible.

They wrote, "The main threat from any severe thunderstorm will be from damaging wind gusts in excess of 58 m.p.h. There is also a risk of an isolated tornado and isolated occurrence of hail (~1 inch diameter) within the slight risk area. Minor urban/poor drainage flooding possible with a localized flash flood risk."

As much as an inch of rain is expected in Bergen County, largely after 2 p.m. through midnight.

For Bergen County, they wrote, "Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m.. Some of the storms could be severe and produce heavy rainfall. High near 87. South wind 5 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent."
