Christine Stoll To Be Hoboken Mayor Bhalla's New Chief Of Staff

Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla has tapped Christine Stoll to be his new chief of staff. She has worked for New Jersey and NYC officials.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Two days after announcing that his former chief of staff and former campaign manager was resigning, Mayor Ravi Bhalla announced his new chief of staff.

Christine Stoll will assume the spot effective next Friday.

Stoll, who is married to outgoing Chief of Staff Vijay Chaudhuri, has worked for almost a decade in local and state government, both in New Jersey and New York, the city noted in a release.

Most recently, she has served as chief of staff to Assembyman John Allen, who had also previously served as Bhalla's chief of staff. Allen has said he won't run for re-election this year. Bhalla is running to replace him. RELATED: Bhalla Says He Won't Run For Third Term As Hoboken's Mayor

“Christine brings a wealth of experience and a proven commitment to public service that make her exceptionally qualified to take on this critical role,” said Bhalla. “Her understanding of government operations, her ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, and her track record of successfully delivering for the community will make her an asset to my administration.”

Working for Allen, the city said, "She played a key role in securing over $80 million for NJ TRANSIT flood protection measures at the Long Slip Canal, as well as funding for Hoboken public schools, Stevens Institute of Technology, and the Hoboken Public Library. She also organized educational workshops for Hoboken seniors, facilitated mobile Motor Vehicle Commission services, and established bi-monthly office hours to connect residents with Assemblyman Allen."

Stoll had spent several years in New York State government. She served as director of special events in Governor Kathy Hochul’s administration, the city said.

She also had served as chief of staff to New York Assemblyman Mike Miller and working as a staff member for New York City Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley.

“I am honored to join Mayor Bhalla’s team and excited to work alongside such dedicated public servants,”said Stoll. “Serving the people of Hoboken in this new capacity is a privilege, and I look forward to helping advance initiatives that strengthen the Hoboken community and enhance the quality of life for all residents.”

Stoll also was elected as a District Leader in Queens where she represented over 30,000 constituents, and she played a role in the development of 21 in ‘21, a non-profit organization focused on empowering and electing more women to the New York City Council. She also currently serves on the New Jersey City University President’s Community Advisory Council.

As chief of staff, Stoll will oversee the daily operations of the Mayor’s Office, provide strategic guidance to Mayor Bhalla, and help implement policies and initiatives to enhance quality of life, improve city services, and increase efficiencies.

Stoll holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from George Washington University, the city said.
