Hoboken Emergency Response Team Tackles Ice Bucket Challenge
Check out this video of nearly 20 community emergency responders getting drenched in "shockingly cold" ice water to raise awareness for ALS.

Despite the end-of-summer, chilly evening weather, nearly 20 of Hoboken’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) could not have looked happier to be soaked to the bone after tackling the ice bucket challenge. This cultural phenomenon that has now raised more than $53 million for the ALS Assocation. Check out a video of Hoboken’s bravest men and women getting soaked below.
“It was shockingly cold,” Hoboken CERT Coordinator Lou Casciano told the Jersey Journal after being drenched in ice water. “But it was fun and we had a good time and it’s for a worthy cause. I’m glad the team has supported the cause.”
In the spirit of the ice bucket challenge, Hoboken CERT challenged the Jersey City CERT, the Union City CERT, the Woodbridge CERT and the Hoboken Parking Utility.

About Hoboken CERT
The Hoboken Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is a completey volunteer-based organization consisting of members of the community who are equipped to handle disastors and emergency situations. The CERT team receives support from the Hoboken Office of Emergency Management. CERT volunteers include doctors, nurses, local fire and police officers, and IT professionals. The CERT team was instrumental to Hoboken’s recovery during Hurricane Sandy, setting up food distribution, staffing shelters, and implementing a pharmacy program.
