Hoboken Fire Department To Receive Grant Money

The state just announced that the city's fire department will receive close to $2,000.

Hoboken's fire department is one of three cities selected to receive funding from the state, according to a recent announcement from U.S. Senators Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez.

Hoboken will receive a $1,854 from FEMA’s Fire Prevention & Safety grant. The other two departments that are receiving funding are Nutley, $16,830, and Clifton, $22,664.

"This federal funding will help ensure that fire departments across New Jersey have the resources and personnel they need to respond effectively in an emergency," Menendez said in a statement.

"As budgets for local first responders are being cut, this federal funding will help put more firefighters on duty in Clifton and help fire departments in Hoboken and Nutley invest in resources to better protect our communities," Lautenberg said.
