The driver parked on the sidewalk and stumbled out. Huggins"approached the driver and could smell the odor of alcoholic beverages emanating from him," police said. Other police arrived and performed a sobriety test, after which Lavenbug was arrested.

Police found an open vodka bottle in his car, they said.
He was given summonses for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, refusing to provide breath samples, and open/unsealed container, police said.
He was released into the custody of a responsible party in accordance with John's Law.
John's Law was instituted in New Jersey in 2001 after a man was charged with DWI and then released. A friend took the man to his vehicle, according to the state. The man then crashed into another car, killing the driver, John Elliott of South Jersey, who was an ensign in the Navy.
