HOBOKEN, NJ — Will the schedules and rules change this week in Hoboken for parking, trash pickup, City Hall, and more?

Yes, they will — and here are some details.

Street cleaning will be suspended on Dec. 25, Dec. 26, and Jan. 1. Waste collection, including recycling, will occur as regularly scheduled.

Parking meters will be suspended on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 only. All other parking regulations will remain in effect.

City offices will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25, Thursday, Dec. 26, and Wednesday, Jan. 1.

The Hoboken Parking Utility service closes early on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Tuesday, Dec. 31, operating on an adjusted schedule from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hop shuttle service will be suspended on Dec. 25, Dec. 26, and Jan. 1.

The library will close for Christmas but will reopen on Dec. 26.

O Christmas Tree

Following the holiday, Christmas trees are to be placed at the curb after 7:30 p.m. (9 p.m. for Washington Street) on Tuesday and Thursday nights starting the week of Dec. 30.

Note that Christmas trees are picked up the next morning by a separate crew from those who pick up regular garbage and recycling.

Trees must be completely bare for disposal. Remove all lights, ornaments, tinsel, etc. Don't place Christmas trees in plastic bags.
