Police: Man Flings Feces During Cop Assault

A Jersey City man attacked two officers on Friday night, according to police reports.

Two police officers were injured Friday after a Jersey City man allegedly attacked them, throwing chairs and his own feces, in the wake of a drug arrest, police said.

One officer suffered a hairline fracture in his arm while another suffered a blow to the head, causing temporary blurry vision, police said.

Lagrone Ladson, 33, of Jersey City, was charged with disarming a law enforcement officer, possession of weapons for unlawful use, unlawful possession of weapons, terroristic threats, escape and possession of heroin, police said.

The attack allegedly took place inside the Hoboken University Medical Center on Friday afternoon, where Ladson allegedly threw a chair as well as a bedpan containing bodily fluids at the officers, police said.

On Friday morning, police had patrolled the Hoboken Housing Authority area and witnessed what they thought was a drug transaction between Michael Rosado, 48, and Ladson, 33, according to the reports.

Upon further examination, police found multiple bags containing heroin, marked by the words "flood zone" in red ink in Rosado's front right pocket, according to reports. Rosado was arrested and charged with drug possession, police said.

Similar bags of heroin, in similar bags with the words "flood zone" on them, were later brought into police headquarters by an unnamed citizen who had found them in the street, according to the police report.

When police told Ladson he was being placed under arrest, he began to resist and flailed his arms, police said. Ladson then got into a fight with the arresting police officer, pushing him to the ground, according to reports. A large group began to gather around them.

A third man, Samuel Gilyard, 30 from Jersey City, intervened in the fight and pushed an officer. Gilyard was arrested too, according to the report.

Police wanted to take Ladson to police headquarters, but he said he needed medical attention and was taken to Hoboken University Medical Center, police said. While there, he became more unruly and started to throw chairs and feces at the officers, police said.

When the officer asked Ladson to stop, he allegedly kept attacking the officer.

"I ain't going back to prison," Ladson allegedly said, while he attacked the officers, according to reports. In response to Ladson's aggressive behavior, the officer took his gun out of his holster, police said.

"I was terrified for my life," the cop wrote in the police report after the assault. "His violent actions towards me led me to believe that he would do anything to escape and not have to go back to jail."

During the fight, the officer's baton fell on the ground and Ladson allegedly grabbed it, using it to beat the officer. Ladson struck the officer in the head with his baton, police said.

After awhile, the officer was able to strike Ladson in the head.

"I was now able to gain some control of Ladson by getting on top of him and attempting to handcuff him," the officer wrote in the report after the fight.

While the cop handcuffed Ladson, he bit the officer in the hand, causing a wound across multiple fingers, police said.

After the fight, Ladson allegedly told the police officers he'd come back to "kill" them.

"You should have killed me," Ladson allegedly said, "because when I get out I am going to kill you."
