
In celebration of Earth Day, the Hoboken Daisy Scout Troup helped Hufnagel Landscape Design & Construction Group plant a 15 foot tall Chinese Elm tree and seasonal pansies in Pier A Park last week.
The 20 kindergarten girls are part of the Hoboken Daisy Scout Troop #12001. The Troop meets every other Tuesday at the Brandt School from 4 to 5PM.
Mayor Dawn Zimmer and Director of Health and Human Services Leo Pellegrini helped the girl scouts plant the tree.

The scout Leaders who participated in the planting included Cathy Tennaro, Zarah Pua and Deidre Phillips. Stacy Mello, along with Director Pellegrini helped to organize the Earth Day planting.
The Chinese Elm tree was sourced and installed by Hufnagel Landscape Design & Construction Group. The Hufnagel Team has worked with the city of Hoboken and other community organizations on many community projects such as school Arbor Day events and city beautifications projects such as Sybill’s Cave.

“We are very happy to work with Hoboken and the Girl Scouts in a community project such as this tree planting which gives us a chance to give back to the people of Hoboken”, said CEO Valerie Hufnagel.
