The system was to be voted on by the Hoboken City Council at Wednesday's meeting.
Of the $135,000 for the camera system, $100,000 was awarded to the city through a grant from Hudson County’s Open Space Trust Fund, the city said.

“Thank you very much to Hudson County Executive Craig Guy and Commissioner Anthony Romano for supporting Hoboken’s efforts to upgrade
our camera system through this grant,” said Mayor Ravi Bhalla.
Bhalla also announced that the council would vote on contracts for temporary and permanent lighting improvements to the park, including downlit floodlights at the gazebo, basketball courts, and some entrances, through a partnership with PSE&G.
Last week, the city also announced it would seek to increase the police force by 10 officers, to 156.
Meanwhile, the next monthly informal community public safety meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at The Hive, 1000 Park Ave. from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Representatives of Hoboken Fire, Hoboken Office of Emergency Management, Hoboken Police, Hoboken EMS and Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and the Hoboken Health Division will be there, the city has said. Light refreshments will be served.
