After a week of vacation, one student came home to an empty envelope that once contained $6,000, police said.

After returning from a week of vacation, one Hoboken resident came home to find $6,000 in cash missing from his apartment late last week, according to police reports.

The student, who lives at Second and Grand Streets, told police that he had last left his house at 8 a.m. on June 23, police said. His mother left his apartment the day after, locking the door, according to reports.

When the student returned six days later, his mother told him she left him $6,000 in cash, in an envelope on his bed, according to the reports.
