You may have seen it already when you got out of the PATH on Monday afternoon: the City moved the taxi stand.
Twenty-five cabs can wait for a fare at the stand at the same time. The old stand had room for nine cars. The stand was moved in order to accommodate more taxis, because the staging area on Observer Highway the cab drivers use to stage their cars will no longer be available. A new flood pumping station will be built there.
Last month, cab drivers and owners expressed their discontent with the new place of the stand.
