When she called the fortune teller in Detroit back roughly two years later, she was told to send more money to alleviate the curse, according to police reports.

For the next two years, the Hoboken woman sent more money, totaling about $2,000, police said.

About three months ago, she stopped sending money.

It was then that the woman received threatening phone calls from Detroit. Her fortune teller kept calling, telling her he knew where she lived, police said. He also threatened to place another curse on her, if she didn't pay up, according to police.

The phone calls kept recurring every two or three weeks, the woman told police.

The last time she received a call was about two weeks ago. No arrests were made, according to the police report.
