Alone On Thanksgiving?Hudson County Town Serving Free Thanksgiving Meals In 5 Locations

Don't want to be alone on Thanksgiving? One North Jersey mayor says anyone is welcome to join 5 Thanksgiving dinners.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Longtime Union City Mayor and State Sen. Brian Stack has famously given out thousands of turkeys to needy residents of his district each Thanksgiving. And now he's making sure people won't eat alone.

In an announcement Sunday, the hands-on mayor encouraged people in the area to come to one of five locations in his densely populated city to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.

"We have dinners, entire Thanksgiving dinners, the full course meal," he said in a video. "Everyone is welcome. Nobody should spend Thanksgiving alone. Come out, spend time with members of the community, and enjoy Thanksgiving. I'll be there, the commissioners will be there, from the appetizer all the way up to the desserts."

Turkey Dinner Also Offered At Hoboken Pizzeria

In the nearby mile-square city of Hoboken, a family-owned pizzeria, Mario's, serves up turkey and trimmings each year to anyone in need. The meal is not just for people who can't afford their own, but also for those who don't want to eat alone.

Each year, the restaurant attracts some clients who are students or workers in Hoboken or just want some company.

"We will open our doors to anyone who needs a meal, is stuck in town, or just want to come hang out and watch some football with us!" the restaurant said in their announcement this year. Find out more about that here: READ MORE: Family-Owned NJ Pizzeria Offers Free Turkey Dinners On Thanksgiving
