Hudson Restaurant Week, Ricciardi Sentencing This Week in Hoboken

Frugal foodies can rejoice this week as the biannual culinary celebration that is Hudson Restaurant Week returns to Hoboken. For the next two weeks, the 47 participating restaurants (22 are in Hoboken) will offer prix fixe lunches from $13 to $15 and dinners from $25 to $38. In legal news, former Hoboken information technology director Patrick Ricciardi, who pleaded guilty in March to illegally intercepting and leaking the confidential email communications of the mayor and two high-ranking mayor's office employees, will be sentenced this week.
Ricciardi was originally set to be sentenced on July 1, but the sentencing was postponed due to a disagreement over restitution. The sentencing date was initially rescheduled for Monday, July 29, but has since been moved back to this Friday, Aug. 2 at 11 a.m.
The first of Hoboken Housing Authority executive director Carmelo Garcia's public forums on the controversial Vision 20/20 public housing redevelopment plan will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. at 411 Marshall Dr. The entire community is invited to attend.
The Community Blood Council of New Jersey is holding a blood drive to benefit the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the corner of 1st Street and Park Avenue. The drive is being sponsored by Mandouh Csintalan of Gotham Realty.
Weather permitting, the city's numerous outdoor summer series will continue this week with the following schedule:
Monday
Mile Square Theatre's final two performances of Yasmina Reza's play "Art," will be held Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. at the Kolo Klub in Hoboken's Pilsener Haus, located at 1422 Grand St. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at milesquaretheatre.org or at the door.
Tuesday
The Hoboken Downtown Farmers’ Market is open every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Washington Street between Newark Street and Observer Highway.

Family Fun Nights continue with a 7 p.m. musical performance by Erin Lee & the Up Past Bedtime Band at Shipyard Park, located at 13th Street and McFeeley Drive.
Wednesday

All are invited to a free outdoor screening of "Life of Pi" at Pier A Park, located on 1st Street and Sinatra Drive as part of the city's weekly Movies Under the Stars series. Wednesday's show begins at 9 p.m. For the best seating, come early and bring a blanket or low-back chair. You may bring food, but alcohol consumption is not permitted and subject to a fine.
Thursday
Residents can grab fresh produce at the Hoboken Uptown Farmers’ Market, which is open every Thursday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the corner of 13th and Hudson streets.
Hoboken's Concerts in the Park series continues with a Puerto Rican Cultural Commitee-sponsored performance by Ray Rodriguez Y Su Swing Sabroso at 7 p.m. at Sinatra Park Amphitheater, located on Sinatra Drive between 4th and 5th streets.
