Jersey City Man Arrested after Resisting Arrest, Assaulting Cop

A Hoboken police officer was injured in an altercation with a Jersey City man who refused to be arrested early Wednesday morning, according to police reports. 

Police arrived at the scene after reports of loud noises coming from two men smoking outside, according to the report.

Hoboken police arrested 21-year-old Willy Reynoso in front of 305 Madison St. around 3:30 a.m., police said. Reynoso was charged with aggravated assault on police and resisting arrest, according to the police report.

When police asked Reynoso to come with them, the man allegedly resisted arrest and became phyiscally aggressive, police said. Reynoso, a Jersey City resident, was sitting on the steps of the building and appeared to be intoxicated, police said.  

"He was incoherent when he spoke with police as he slurred his words," accordingt to the police report.

He kept resisting, even after multiple warnings, police said. 

After the struggle, the officer was treated by ambulance personnel for abrasions and swelling to his right hand and his right knee, police said.
