
Hoboken police arrested a 31-year-old Jersey City resident after he allegedly slapped a cop in the face on Saturday night around 8:30 at 700 Jackson St., according to police reports.
Police found Juan Lopez hunched over a car as they were patrolling the area, according to the report. When the officers got out they went up to Lopez and asked him if he was ok, police said. According to the report Lopez didn't answer. When police asked him if he needed a ride, he also didn't answer, according to the report.
When Lopez walked away, the officer reached touched Lopez's arm to stop him, at which point Lopez slapped the officer with his left hand, according to the report. The cop stumbled back because of the hit, police said.

Police then arrested Lopez and charged him with aggravated assault and resisting arrest, according to the report. Police said Lopez was intoxicated.
